If you are a renter in Illinois and are behind on rent due to economic hardship caused by COVID-19, you may be eligible for up to $25,000 in emergency rental assistance. Assistance may cover up to 15 months of missed or partial payments – including 12 months of past-due rent and 3 months of future rent payments. Proof of citizenship is not required to apply and financial assistance is a grant that does not have to be repaid.
If ILRPP is accepting applications, you may access the online application at illinoishousinghelp.org. Check back regularly to see if this program is accepting applications.
